The Jonathan Initiative

Being a member of the clergy is tough and sometimes we just need a ministerial friend to talk to. The Jonathan Initiative provides confidential email, video, and telephone conversations for ministers with other qualified ministerial professionals.  We don't have all the answers, nor do we give advice, but sometimes a problem shared is a problem halved.

What is the Jonathan Initiative?

Dr Sigvartsen started the Jonathan Initiative in 2012 to address the need for clergy and clergy academics to just have someone to talk to confidentially about their personal and professional concerns - someone just like them who had been a minister or ministerial academic.

The Jonathan Initiative operates under a duty-to-report policy where disclosed abuse or neglect of children has to be reported.  Pastorally privileged conversations do not apply in those instances.
